A child’s first visit to the dentist should be enjoyable. Children are not born with a natural fear of dentists, but they can fear the unknown.
Our people make a special effort to use pleasant, non-frightening, simple words to describe any treatment we plan to do. We want you and your children to feel at ease from the moment you arrive at Hill Street Dental. The more you and your children know about the first visit, the better you will feel.
For most children, we recommend a first dental appointment at the age of three. On this visit we assess children’s level of cooperation and how best to talk and work with them. We judge the success of the appointment by your child’s willingness to come back to see us.
Of course, if you have concerns about your infant’s teeth at any age, please come for a visit.
Our goal is for your children to get the best early preventative oral care — which leads to fewer dental problems and worries later in life, to let them keep smiling!
